Welcome to our community website, providing information and images relating to our vibrant community on the South Coast of England. Historic, picturesque, rural yet close to the seaside town of Eastbourne it is a special place to live in, work in or to visit.
Westham Parish Council is made up of three communities, Westham Village, Stone Cross and Hankham each with their own distinctive images of the Heron, the Windmill and the Anvil respectively. As you enter each of these areas you are greeted by beautifully crafted community signs.
Please visit this site again soon to find out more about our community.
“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.
The Councillors and Clerk of Westham Parish Council are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.”
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sadly, we are not able to have a designated area for flowers and tributes but we are suggesting that people can make donations if they so wish. We understand the financial pressures of the current situation so please do not feel obliged to donate. However, for those who wish to and are able to do so, The Duke of Cambridge has launched an urgent appeal asking those who can, to donate money to the National Emergencies Trust to help local charities, distribute money and support victims in combatting the impact of the pandemic.
Further information is available at www.nationalemergenciestrust.org.uk
Book of Condolence:
Regrettably, due to the pandemic there will be no public condolence book set up at the Westham Parish Council offices but Buckingham Palace will soon have an online book of condolence which will be available on The Buckingham Palace website
Church Services: Our local churches are in the process of working through the practicalities of having the church buildings open so that the public may come in to pay respects in this way. We would advise contacting your local church for details.
Please visit The Buckingham Palace website to find further details about the funeral and what is happening at a national level.
